A Parent’s Reflection – Six Years with Studio of Keely Phillips-Carter

When I first wrote a testimonial for the Studio of Keely Phillips-Carter, we were just two years into our journey. Now, six years later, I can say without hesitation that this studio has become a second home, and Miss Keely has become family. I do not think my daughter will ever truly leave. I know Miss Keely will always be in her corner and will still be listed as her emergency musical contact, or maybe just the person she calls when she needs advice, reassurance, or a musical lifeline. That is how much she means to us.

Miss Keely is one of those rare people who comes into your child’s life and quietly, profoundly changes it. Her teaching goes far beyond music — she nurtures the whole person. She has a gift for seeing each student’s potential and patiently guiding them toward it, step by step, note by note. Over the years, I’ve watched my daughter grow in confidence, skill, and heart, thanks to Miss Keely’s gentle strength, wisdom, and belief in her.

This studio is not about chasing trophies or rushing to the top. It’s about building something lasting — skills, character, artistry, and self-belief. And while the accolades may come, what matters most here is the journey, the connection, and the joy of making music with authenticity and soul. If your child brings commitment, respect, and the willingness to grow, Miss Keely will give them everything she has. If you are simply looking for someone to push your child for the sake of recognition, this may not be the place. But if you are looking for someone who will pour love, patience, and deep expertise into your child’s musical and personal development, then you will have found
something truly special. We certainly did.
